We are looking for an experienced and inspirational leader to head the Community Safety team within Council's Community Wellbeing Group.

This role is an important strategic one, focused on transforming community safety in public spaces to reflect Rotorua as the safest place to live, work and play in New Zealand, through innovative approaches to partnership with central and local government, iwi, non-governmental agencies (NGOs) and community groups.

In addition this role will ensure a co-ordinated and responsive Council approach to community safety that is integrated across the district's regulatory and enforcement services.

We are looking for someone with strong collaboration and leadership skills to grow and support the team in delivering seamless regulatory and enforcement services and advice to our community.

To be successful in this role, you will have;
- Proven positive strategic relationship development and management with iwi and key stakeholders.
- Proven thought leadership at a strategic level - ability to proactively assist in the direction of the organisation.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills and ability to work effectively as an influencer.
- Proven inspirational leader and developer of high performing teams.
