KiwiRail needs a **Senior Resource Management Act Advisor**. Working as part of our RMA team the focus of the role is to support Kiwirail’s Capital Works Programs and ensuring that KiwiRail can maintain its operations across the country.

**What you’ll do**
- Protecting and supporting KiwiRail assets, operations and projects - Ensure operational railway land is designated for railway purposes and holds appropriate underlying zoning.
- Integrated National, Regional and District Planning - Provide input into legislative changes at a national, regional and district level.
- Policy and Process development - Assist in the development and maintenance of internal and external RMA related policy to support the greater team.
- Liaison and Communication - Proactively develop and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
- Zero Harm - Compliance with all rail safety system standards, procedures and statutory requirements within your area of responsibility.

**What you’ll need**
- NZPI recognised planning qualification.
- 6+ years New Zealand based planning experience within the RMA framework, preferably with a focus on capital works and infrastructure.
- Strategic planning experience including policy work.
- Ability to communicate effectively and openly in a variety of settings and styles.
- Ability to prioritise and manage (sometimes heavy) workloads and timelines, understands how to separate and combine tasks to manage workflow.
