**About the Role**
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist Palliative Care to join our multidisciplinary team at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and whānau navigating complex health journeys.
You will provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and support across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing palliative care delivery, mentoring staff, and advocating for best practice in end-of-life care.

**About you**
You are a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and a postgraduate qualification in palliative care, oncology, or a related field. You bring a deep understanding of the unique needs of patients and whānau facing life-limiting illness, and youre committed to delivering culturally safe, equitable, and person-centred care.
Youll thrive in a role that requires clinical leadership, advanced assessment skills, and the ability to work autonomously across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. You understand the importance of whakawhanaungatangabuilding meaningful relationshipsand youre confident navigating bicultural practice in line with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
**You will also bring**:
- Proven experience in palliative care or complex symptom management
- A strong commitment to equity and improving outcomes for Māori and Pacific peoples
- Familiarity with New Zealands health system, including Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills to support colleagues and promote best practice
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work across disciplines and services
- Confidence in using digital health tools and documentation systems
