**About the Role**

As the Clinical Nurse Specialist - Neonatal, you will play a pivotal leadership role in our Level 2A Special Care Baby Unit, providing advanced nursing expertise and care to neonates aged 28 weeks and above. You will work in partnership with whānau, nurses, medical staff, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal outcomes. Your role will be focused on expert clinical assessment, staff mentorship, evidence-based care delivery, and service improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the development of neonatal nursing care while supporting whānau during a critical time.

Our SCBU team at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier’s Hospital is a tight-knit group of passionate clinicians who provide specialised care for unwell or premature newborns. We are committed to whānau-centred care and strive for excellence in everything we do.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- At least 5 years of neonatal or paediatric nursing experience.
- A master’s degree (or be working toward one).
- Excellent clinical assessment, leadership, and mentorship skills.
- Confidence in managing complex care and working collaboratively under pressure.
- A strong commitment to whānau-centred, equitable, and quality-driven care.
