**About the Role**

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Patient at Risk (CNS-PAR), you will play a critical role in identifying and supporting the care of deteriorating patients across the in-patient wards. Working alongside a team of dedicated professionals, you’ll provide rapid, expert clinical input to patients at risk of deterioration, supporting ward staff with complex decision-making and early intervention.

In this diverse and dynamic role, you’ll split your time between hands-on clinical work (typically in ICU or ED) and your CNS-PAR responsibilities. You will also support education initiatives through formal study days and informal bedside teaching, enhancing the clinical capability of ward-based staff. This role is part of an expanding service and will include participation in a rotating roster covering AM, PM, and (soon to be included) night shifts.

**About the Team/Service/ Location**

Our CNS-PAR team consists of approximately 13 experienced nurses providing seven-day coverage of AM and PM shifts. The team is managed by an Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM) and reports directly to the Intensive Care Service. We are currently growing our team to ensure continuous coverage and enhance our ability to support patients and staff around the clock.

**About you**

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Patient at Risk, you will have:

- Extensive current or recent ICU or ED nursing experience.
- A minimum Level 3 (Proficient) Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP).
- A Postgraduate Certificate, including Advanced Pathophysiology and Advanced Clinical Assessment.
- Ongoing study toward a Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s in Nursing.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching, mentoring, and preceptorship, with strong leadership and communication skills.
- Clinical and professional maturity, excellent triage ability, and capacity to manage multiple priorities with sound decision-making.
