Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

Brilliant opportunity to join our large and diversified Facilities business in a senior leadership role. Following an internal career move, we are now looking for an outstanding National Manager to lead and grow our national AE Smith business. Recognised for delivering market leading HVAC mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) solutions, AE Smith provides design, build, project management and maintenance services to our customer base nation-wide.

Supported by a highly capable leadership team with the requisite technical knowledge and industry experience, you will be accountable for the safety, performance, business development, and people engagement of the AE Smith business nationally.

You will also join the Facilities & Asset Services Leadership Team with plenty of scope to make a difference in a collaborative environment. This will provide opportunities to extend yourself, influence business strategy, support growth by leveraging our existing customer base, identifying new opportunities, and championing our delivery management governances and standards. Overall, the role will:
- Nurture and develop a strong health & safety culture.

Champion the delivery of operational excellence and people engagement.

Drive proactive customer engagement activities, identifying sustainable growth, business development, business innovation and joint operational delivery opportunities in collaboration with other senior Downer NZ leaders.

Be responsible for the commercial and financial success of the AE Smith business in line with Downer NZ expectations.

Champion revenue growth enhancement and cost optimisation initiatives.

Be accountable for optimising overall workforce productivity, resourcing levels and ongoing capability development.

Nga Pūkenga Matua | Important Skills

You will have experience from a technical services, engineering or contracted services environment with ideally 8-10+ years at a management level. Experience with customer engagement, leading a technical workforce, and directly managing commercials will be essential. Ideally you hold a qualification in a related discipline, e.g. engineering, commercial, supply chain, operations management.
