By putting the customer first, we succeed in being one of the best retailers in New Zealand; we truly believe it's our positive, friendly, and helpful Team Members that keep our customers coming back **Job Description**: Reporting to the Logistics Chapter Area Lead, as a Chapter Lead - Transport Operations you will play a pivotal role in driving our operational excellence and ensuring the smooth functioning of our transportation services. Experience and knowledge in distribution and fulfilment is vital for this role. You will lead a team of talented professionals, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the seamless movement of goods from production to final delivery. Drawing on your toolkit of skills and proven experience your other key objectives will be: - Lead a safe and healthy work culture and environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards, procedures and behaviours while complying with legal regulations. - Participate in squad ceremonies (stand ups, sprint reviews and retros) - Contribute to squad developments and learnings by reviewing performance after each sprint - Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of transport and fulfilment specialists, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. - Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the fulfilment process, driving operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. - Responsibility for competence development and knowledge sharing within your chapter - Responsibility for HR management of chapter members - Also working as a squad member, contributing to the squad on the same teams as other chapter/squad members. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying training needs, mentoring team members, and promoting a positive work environment. - Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in the logistics and transportation field. **Qualifications**: We are looking for someone who isn't afraid of rolling their sleeves up to keep a finger on the pulse. To be successful in this role you will have the following: - Proven experience in transportation management, with a focus on fulfilment and distribution in a fast-paced environment. - Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices. - Third party carrier management and large value contract management experience - Strong decision making and problem-solving skills, with an ability to operate autonomously - Strong analytical skills (comfortable handling large volumes of complex data) - Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail - Effective commercial relationship building and ability to influence at a strategic level - Proven ability to drive process improvement initiatives. - Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration (preferred) Additional Information What's in it for you?
