Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
As the Regional Director, Hospital and Specialist Services (H&SS), you will be responsible for improving the health and wellbeing of the people in the Te Manawa Taki Region, with particular focus on improving equity of health outcomes within the funding available. The Regional Director leads the planning and delivery of regionally delivered hospital and specialist services to contribute to the delivery of a national network of care outlined in the Aotearoa Health Plan and transforms health services in the region.
In this role you will be working alongside three other regional directors and in close partnership with Te Aka Whai Ora. You will work closely with both the Regional Directors from other directorates of Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora and the Regional Director Pacific Health to ensure equity for Pacific populations is achieved.

Mōu | About you
As an experienced director, you can point to a track record of improving equity of health outcomes in Aotearoa. You will have been responsible for operational healthcare delivery in complex environments with multiple stakeholder interests and expectations. You will have worked within national frameworks and have had considerable autonomy in achieving national goals.

**Ideally you will have**:

- System-wide experience in leading and managing through transformational system change
- Experience of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- Experience leading and managing a workforce within an organisation where a high level of organisational acumen and political nous is required
- Experience at an executive level within large public facing multi-faceted or complex environments with multiple consumer and political interests and expectations
- Experience operating in a confidential/secure environment with access to sensitive information
