Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
As a member of the Hospital and Specialist Services team, this role has shared accountability for undertaking and writing business plans translated from health plans and projects, to turn them into actions that support the wider hospital and specialist services implementations team. The team is focused on the delivery of the intentions of the interim New Zealand Health Plan, enabling services with an equity lens and providing for priority populations
The Business Implementation Manager will develop plans to ensure that the interim NZ Health Plan changes are implemented at the hospital level of the organisation. They will be required to support the business by identifying gaps and risks and developing strategies to mitigate these risks and support actions to meet the business and strategic plans of the Hospital and specialist services team.
This is a secondment/ fixed term opportunity for 12 months

The successful individual will be able to engage with leaders across the health sector, building a reputation as a trusted colleague who will actively support team members to develop plans that facilitate the delivery of the required operational outcomes. The Business Implementations Manager would be an avid communicator who can build strong stakeholder engagement using a variety of presentation and communication channels and has a clear understanding of the implementation plans and how best to translate these into actions.

**The ideal person will**:

- Support the directorate in delivering its reporting requirements to the executive leadership team, board and central government
- Support the team in managing and reporting on the risk on behalf of the directorate
- Working with programme leads to track delivery of progress across planned care, acute demand, networks and specialist services
- Demonstrated experience with developing and writing business plans in the health sector
- Be highly connected operationally with a detailed understanding of how hospitals work every day
- Superior engagement skills
- An enquiring mind that looks for opportunities and innovation alongside critical thinking to consider and analyse those opportunities
