**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The purpose of this role is to lead the newly formed Resident Doctors Support Service (RDSS) which has been established to provide leadership and connection right across the training and service delivery lifecycle to ensure RMO wellbeing, professional development, and effective integration across and within the healthcare system.

This is a senior role that will work to establish this new function, with senior leaders within the Hospital & Specialist Services, National Clinical Leadership and People and Communications business unit to ensure this critical workforce group is supported across their lifecycle.

**Key accountabilities are**:

- Establishment of a new function, operating model and associated programme of work which includes key opportunities to develop consistency of activity across the 19 current operational RMO Units, including fit-for-purpose systems and processes that support RMO wellbeing, training, workplace experience and retention.
- Stakeholder relationship management with key senior leadership (Clinical and Managerial) internal and external stakeholders ensuring the RDSS has a focus on contractual, accreditation, career planning and training requirements as well as opening opportunities to support the medical pipeline and development of the Te Whatu Ora medical workforce with both organisational and clinical skills.

- Proactively works alongside the Workforce Development and Planning function within P&C to ensure a seamless relationship across the training pipeline to establish and deliver a review and evaluation programme (including seeking H&SS and other feedback) to ensure the RDSS delivers to core objectives; and
- Ensuring a strong relationship, and active engagement with, RMO Unions.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Leadership experience working at a senior level (in the range of 10+ years), preferably in healthcare.
- Previous responsibility at a leadership level relating to Tier 2 and other senior leaders, and for developing, maintaining, and influencing these mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships.
- Significant experience working in complex stakeholder environments.
- Prior experience working with RMO or Medical workforce issues.
- Experience with design, and governance of multi-layered programmes of work and implementing effective group strategies and work plans that deliver on organisational objectives.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or comparable/extensive experience working at a senior leadership level.
