Private Secretary roles are exciting and unique opportunities which allow you to develop and grow skills, whilst making a significant impact on policy issues at the core of government.

In your time in the Minister's Office you will be the CE's representative, doing the following:

- Facilitating a strong relationship between the Minister's office and Te Puna Aonui,
- Providing high quality, balanced and considered analysis and advice to the Minister on behalf of the Te Puna Aonui,
- Feeding back to Te Puna Aonui on what it can do to support other IEB agencies in their work,
- Building strong and trusted relationships with senior leaders and Ministers,
- Liaise with other Ministers' offices to ensure IEB-wide matters are given due attention to support a collaborative, government-wide response

This role will suit a person who:

- is able to take a considered but firm and pragmatic approach to issues and providing
- takes time and the appropriate steps to be able to speak with authority
- thinks strategically about what is needed to successfully advance the Ministerial relationship and policy advice of the Te Puna Aonui
- can develop structure where there is none
- believes in constant improvement, both giving and receiving constructive challenge
- has and maintains high-level of political nous.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $110,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
