The company distributes and manufactures steel products - from nuts, bolts, nails, piping, roofing and farm fencing, to the largest structural steel products used in commercial construction, such as purlins, girts, joists, universal beams and seismic mesh.

Company's stable of best-in-class businesses are leading suppliers of stainless, engineering steel, fastenings, and irrigation products and services in the country. They include Stainless, Manufacturing Suppliers Ltd (MSL) and Composite Floor Decks Limited (CFDL).

We are looking for a senior dispatcher who can hit the ground running to join our team on full time basis where you will report to the DC Logistics and Planning Manager

**We are looking for someone that has the following skills**:

- A strong eye for detail
- A thorough understanding of safe work practices and looks for ways to better deploy and utilise resources to save costs
- Great communication skills and is a team player
- Be able to get to work on time.
- Shows a willingness to learn and take on new ideas Quick learner with a flexible can do attitude.

**You will need to have**:

- Full NZ Drivers Licence is a MUST
- Able to pass drug test
- Previous experience working in dispatch, including transport scheduling and warehousing.
- Confidence in using computer programs particularly with MS Excel and Microsoft AX
- A current forklift certificate would be beneficial but not essential Knowledge of local transport industry and steel products would be desirable.

**Key duties and not limited to**:

- Maintain accurate documentation for all dispatch activities
- Effectively coordinate and work with Customer Service, Warehouse Operations and other stakeholders to improve the customer experience.
- Co-ordinate the activities of the outwards transport provider
- Communicate with Drivers on special instructions, collection MTO’s etc.
- Maintain and update relevant information sheets -colour codes, truck schedules etc.
- Coordinate pick up of returns within the set time as per SLA.
- Support the dispatch team, Customer service and Warehouse team to seek initiatives (and support implement) in improving processes
- Take an active involvement in company's health, safety and environment systems and procedures
- Work with warehouse supervisors and store staff to ensure correct loading of vehicles and schedule delivery sequence in conjunction with drivers.
- Any other duties as directed by Logistics Manager.
