Dispatch Manager

Eat My Lunch is a social enterprise with a mission to ensure no child is hungry at school. In the last year we’ve scaled our business tenfold and need a passionate dispatch manager to join our team immediately for an eight week contract, with the chance that it could lead to more permate work

What you'll do:

- Manage the dispatch of our food parcels for people isolating in Auckland
- Work with the picking and packing team to ensure boxes are organised for the correct runs at time of departure
- Ensure runs are out the door on time and delivered in full on time
- You'll work with the drivers to ensure you have all deliveries covered and support them to maximise their efficiency

What type of person are you:

- Someone with experience in picking, packing, or delivery logistics is preferred but not required. We'll take a quick learner with a hard work ethic and a great attitude (maybe a graduate or intern looking to get some experience)
- Cool under pressure.
- Passion for food and people.

This position is a contract role for a piece of work supporting the Ministry of Social Developments and people isolating from covid-19.

Eat My Lunch is on the hunt for a passionate, organized, and confident superstar to join us at the earliest opportunity in the role of Dispatcher Supervisor.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager this role must ensure orders are correctly packed and labelled according to the Runsheet. Prioritise runs and help the drivers to correctly load, leave on time and deliver on time; in full.

This role requires great communication and quick thinking. You’ll be assisting the onsite Logistics coordinator and working with the wider Eat My Lunch Team. This job requires an all-rounder who likes getting into whatever needs to be done. Eat My Lunch operates a 24-hour operation, 7 days a week with multiple shifts start/end time. This role would be Tuesday - Saturday with early morning starts.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Communicate with the Logistics coordinator any issues with the daily deliveries
- Ensure Orders are boxed, and label correct according to the runsheet
- Dispatch Priority orders on time to ensure they arrive in full on time
- Delivering Eat My Lunch meals within specified deadlines and in great condition
- Ensuring the delivery App vWork is always operational
- Ensuring that all jobs are completed in vWork after each delivery
- Following all guidelines outlined in the Eat My Lunch Vehicle Use Policy
- Ensuring all road rules are followed and professionalism taken when on the road
- Creating runsheets for drivers and optimizing runs using Vwork software

**Delivery process**:

- Checking and loading runs to ensure nothing is left behind
- Supporting other drivers where capacity allows
- A willingness to jump in a car or on a production line to ensure no child goes hungry at school.
- Back up to Logistic Coordinator for data processing, Printing and route optimisation

**Kitchen Responsibilities**:

- Packing down and making boxes
- Cleaning and tidying up
- Assisting on the production line to complete the Lunch assembly

**Appearance / Personal Hygiene**:

- Be presentable
- Be tidy
- Be clean
- As this is a physical job, be fit and healthy with good personal hygiene

**Requirements**:

- Have a clean driving licence
- Hold a working visa or appropriate residency to work in New Zealand
- You will be fit, fast & reliable
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have great attention to detail
- Be flexible
- Enjoy working under time pressure
- The ability to work within a large team of diverse people
- Understanding of or previous experience using Excel, Microsoft Teams a Bonus
