In addition to the wide range of complex chemistry tests on food and environmental samples, the Specialty Testing team undertakes Animal Health testing on samples collected by the AsureQuality Field teams. At the moment these are a range of serology ELISA tests though there is the opportunity to develop more test types.

In addition to providing scientific expertise, this role will have a commercial element as we seek to grow the animal health offering.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Analytical Method Development and Validation**:
Research, develop, and implement new testing methods like ELISA and PCR. Write validation reports and project proposals. Document, revise, and assess methods, offering technical advice to lab personnel. Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and automation.
- **Technical Competency and Training**:
Develop competency tests, provide training on new methods and instruments, and review results for compliance with IANZ requirements.
- **Commercial Support**:
Stay updated on animal health developments. Investigate procedures for increased efficiency and review costings, supporting competitive pricing. Identify market opportunities and develop business cases and proposals to establish the work.
- **Instrument Diagnostics**:
Diagnose faulty analytical instruments to ensure optimal functionality.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant scientific degree - Post graduate qualification in a related life sciences field such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Virology, etc.
- 5+ years' experience in animal health testing.
