Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist: Haematology and Blood Bank
- 0.8FTE part time permanent, 64 hours per fortnight

Waitemata DHB laboratory is currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our friendly Haematology and Blood Bank team. Multiskilling in both Haematology and Transfusion is essential, so work experience in both these disciplines will be an advantage.

You must be willing to participate in a 24/7 roster, with limited out of hours shift work, working up to 64 hours per fortnight including weekends and public holidays with flexibility to work across both North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital sites.

Requirements for this role:

- At least 5 year working experience in a Haematology laboratory and competent in the interpretation of morphology peripheral blood films and / or
- At least a year demonstrated experience in Transfusion Medicine, Blood Bank
- MS Council Registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with a current annual practising certificate is preferable
- Full drivers licence
- NZ residency or NZ citizenship is essential
- Working knowledge of eTraceline and / or IT3000 would be advantageous
- A reputation for a positive and dynamic approach to teamwork
- Demonstrated initiative for problem solving
- Able to deal sensitively with a wide range of people
- Proven ability to multi task
- A good eye for detail and ability to pay attention
- Able to follow procedures and instructions
- Proven computer and technology experience and skill
- Reliable, organised and responsible team player and
- Able to work in a busy environment and prioritise your workload to deliver quality results within set timeframes.
