**About the role**

You will be responsible for identifying training needs and developing technical training programs for the Building Control team. Your role involves ensuring that all staff maintain required certifications, comply with building consent processes, and consistently perform inspections, certifications, and consent processing to a high standard.

A key aspect of your role will be managing our competency assessments, technical audits, and training framework programme and ensuring supervision of staff seeking changes to their competency levels.

**About you**

We are seeking someone with the following skills and experience:

- Tertiary qualification in building, architecture, or a related field compliant with Regulation 18.
- Experience in building-related regulatory services, with a minimum of three years in employee competency assessment.
- High-level skills in consent assessment (C1-C3 competency levels would be advantageous ).
- A strong understanding of the Building Act, NZ Building Code, Building Regulations, and local government legislation.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and train staff, along with proficiency in digital platforms and Microsoft Office.
