**About the role**
The Technical Capability Specialist at Hutt City Council ensures the Building Team is technically proficient and compliant with BCA accreditation and statutory obligations. This role involves developing and implementing internal process training, monitoring and reviewing processes for ongoing technical development, and ensuring compliance and efficiency in building consent and control processes. The Specialist also monitors audit outcomes to identify improvement areas, leads system upgrades for operational efficiency, oversees new project system implementations, and coordinates with stakeholders to ensure successful project execution while providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
**About you**
We are seeking someone with the following skills and experience:
- Proactive and detail-oriented with a strong background in building control and technical training.
- Experience developing and implementing comprehensive training programs
- Understanding of New Zealand's building regulations and are adept at keeping up with legislative changes.
- Excellent communication skills to foster transparent communication and build effective relationships with stakeholders.
