Auckland City, New Zealand Halter Full time

**About the Role**

We’re looking for a Director of Talent to lead the next chapter of Halter’s growth

As a senior leader within both the People & Performance team and the wider business, you’ll be responsible for building and executing a global talent strategy that ensures we attract, hire, and retain world-class talent at scale. You’ll work closely with our our leaders to deeply understand team needs, anticipate organisational shifts, and design scalable hiring solutions that support our growth.

Reporting directly to the COO, you’ll be responsible for both the architecture and the engine of Talent Acquisition (TA) across the company. That means leading the global TA team, optimising process and systems, partnering with leaders to deeply understand hiring needs, and creating a hiring experience that reflects the calibre of our product and our mission.

We fundamentally believe the biggest driver of company success will be the speed and quality of our hiring. It sets the foundation for everything else that we do to achieve our ambitious mission.

**What your day will look like**:

- Talent Acquisition Strategy & Leadership: Own and execute a global talent strategy that supports rapid scaling across regions and functions. Partner with the executive team to forecast hiring needs, workforce planning, and strategic org design. Translate company growth goals into an actionable and aligned talent roadmap
- Team Buildout & Management: Build, lead, and scale a high-performing global Talent Acquisition team. Define clear roles, success metrics and operating rhythms across the TA function. Coach and develop team members, while continuously raising the bar for performance and impact.
- Business Partnering & Coaching: Act as a trusted advisor to business and functional leaders on hiring, team design, and talent planning. Train and enable hiring managers to assess talent effectively and run great hiring processes. Champion a performance and values-aligned approach to hiring at every level.
- DEI & Internal Mobility: Embed diversity, equity and inclusion into all hiring practices and talent strategies. Partner with People Operations and L&D to support internal mobility, succession planning and career pathways.
- We’re a fast moving, growth company, so from time to time, other responsibilities will pop up that you will need to take on

**Who are we looking for?**:

- 10+ years in talent acquisition, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles, ideally in high-growth or global tech environments
- Proven experience building and scaling high-performing teams across multiple regions
- Strong operational mindset — capable of designing systems that scale and solve for complexity
- Strategic partner who can zoom in and out: from exec-level workforce planning to day-to-day hiring excellence
- Deep understanding of global hiring markets and the nuances of hiring across different geographies
- Strong, passionate Leader - Proven people manager that can build high-performing teams that achieve remarkable outcomes

**Why our team loves working at Halter ❤️**:

- Dedicate yourself to solving real-world problems alongside an epic team in a culture designed around growth.
- A genuine and shared connection to our mission to make a difference in the world.
- The pride of joining an iconic New Zealand technology company. The excitement, risk, and reward of a high-growth technology scale-up on the global stage.
- Our ideas are truly valued, we are able to move fast, and our impact is real.
- State-of-the-art, dog-friendly office that’s been thoughtfully designed right in the heart of Auckland city. Did we mention dogs and cows?
- Healthy body, healthy mind. We’re partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being.
- We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family.
- Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self-development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth.
- Our time to recharge is valued, we’re offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
- We offer an inclusive and attractive remuneration package made up of salary, benefits and an employee stock ownership plan.
- Delicious snacks and drinks are available for your daily flow.

**Our Office First Approach**

There’s a reason you visit your friends in person, live with your family and don’t do dinners over Zoom. Humans are wired for connection. We believe a world-class, in-person office culture is the best way for high-performing teams.

Being office first is a core pillar of our culture. We believe in-person connections are key to driving your own growth, learning, impact, and building genuine long-lasting relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful and aligned work. We don’t like having heaps of rules or policies, but this
