We have a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) opportunity working in the Thames, Hauraki and Coromandel region.

As a vital part of the clinical team at Hospice Waikato, our Clinical Nurse Specialists are integral to the provision of leading edge, patient focused palliative care to people with life limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their whānau. Our Clinical Nurse Specialists provide excellent palliative care leadership, clinical support, care coordination, education, and case management within rural Waikato, working closely with Hospice teams, DHB services, primary care, community organisations, aged care facilities and rural hospitals.

This is a position where you will get to influence and enhance standards and patient care to enable patients and their whānau to live every moment. Through your excellent ability to connect and communicate you will have a platform to be able to support patients to identify goals of care and achieve their advanced care plan preferences. We believe in going the extra mile to ensure patients receive our time and the best holistic care possible.

**We are seeking someone who has**:

- A post graduate qualification in nursing
- Significant clinical nursing experience (preferably in the specialty of palliative care,

gerontology, or life-limiting conditions)
- Sound knowledge of tikanga, Te Tiriti principles, and evidence of reducing inequity for

Māori, and a willingness to keep on learning about this
- Strong leadership and relational skills, including the ability to lead change and quality initiatives
- Excellent communication, coaching and teamwork values and skills
- A passion for nursing, and willingness to have a voice and be involved in

regional and national issues that affect nursing
- Knowledge of/experience in advance care planning

Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid work visa. The successful applicant will be required to undertake pre-employment health screening (including drug testing) and complete a Ministry of Justice criminal records check, the results of which must be to Hospice Waikato's satisfaction.
