We have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and experienced Building Control Officer to join our Council, and perform Building Consent Authority and Territorial Authority functions to a high standard. **Let's look at some of the things you could be doing**:

- Providing advice to the public in regards to the Building Act, NZ Building Code and Regulations
- Undertaking final inspections and reviewing supporting documents to issue or refuse to issue Code Compliance Certificates
- Reviewing and providing reports to the person responsible for the Quality Assurance System
- Processing and issuing Project Information Memorandums
- Other TA functions

**What you would bring to the role**:
Plenty of previous work experience in the building industry and regulatory environments such as BCAs, relevant qualifications such as a National Diploma in Building Surveying (small buildings and/or medium or large buildings) or equivalent Regulation 18 qualification, coupled with a high degree of knowledge and understanding of the Building Act, and relevant legislation and regulations. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to build strong working relationships with builders, the public and Council clients.
