**Applications Specialist**

Port Otago Group’s business comprises a regional container terminal, bulk port activities, cruise and property investment and development. We operate 24/7 and service Otago, South Canterbury, and Southland, working with customers to streamline their supply chains. **About the role**:

- Working on projects and initiatives to continuously improve our corporate and operations technology systems and platforms.
- Helping us identify opportunities to adopt new technologies and practices.

**What we’re looking for**:
To be successful in this role you’ll need to have experience in Applications Support or as a Systems Analyst within an enterprise environment. We’re not phased if you haven’t worked in the Port Industry before, but you will ideally have:

- A computer science degree for demonstrated experience as a Systems Analyst.
- Experience in Cloud delivered technologies and implementing change in critical systems.
- Good knowledge of a range of operating systems, their platforms, and their network interactions.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining technical and user documentation.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills - you’ll be a team player and have the ability to positively engage with people across all levels.
- The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions - to do this effectively you’ll be a pro at translating complex technical information to plain English.
- A track record of managing multiple priorities through flexibility and commitment to getting the job done.
- Experience with the following would be helpful, but not a deal breaker: Devops source control, SQL query proficiency, system testing practices, understanding of EDI, software development lifecycle experience, and a working knowledge of core ITIL processes.
