Payments and data processing are critical areas for Westpac requiring including robust and reliable connectivity with our customers and business partners. The need for flexible, open, real-time, and easy-to integrate solutions is critical to Westpac’s future payments ecosystem and to accommodate changing requirements that ensure the best possible outcomes for our customers.

As an established senior product manager in a cross-functional agile squad within the Payments Tribe you will take a leadership role within the wider product team to manage a portfolio of channel products and customer connectivity solutions, managing their product lifecycle, roadmap and end-to-end delivery to maximise best customer outcomes.

Close collaboration with IT and Implementation teams will be required to agree workload prioritisation and the drive the timely and efficient delivery of customer solutions.

Key responsibilities are outlined below:

- Develops a cohesive connectivity strategy to modernise and manage a product portfolio that enables or supports critical payment services for business customers and third parties
- Ensures robust processes are in place to support the end-to-end delivery of products and that all product governance requirements are completed
- Owns key risks/issues/remediation associated with the product or service under management
- Ensures compliance with NZ law and Westpac NZ policies (product and regulatory compliance)
- Provides expertise to assist general product queries, information and materials
- Manages product pricing strategy and quoting process for new and change requests
- Develops and enhance products under management and maintain/update product collateral
- Chairs and runs regular meetings and training sessions with key stakeholders as required
- Contributes to and help builds a positive culture within a nimble, growing area.
- Participates as a leader across the wider team.
- Supports the development of product analysts/managers to enhance team skills and capabilities

As a Senior Product Manager, you will also be working with the wider product team to help support other business products and services within our Payments Tribe.

This role will suit a business product manager who is passionate about developing and managing innovative payment products that will deliver superior customer experiences for Institutional and Business Banking customers.
- You'll be a team player who will bring excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement. In addition,
- You have at least 5 years’ end-to-end product management experience, preferably in banking channels and connectivity for business customers
- You have significant and relevant experience in financial services or business with specific experience in payment products - preferably high value payments and also card services.
- You have a working knowledge of bank connectivity & technology options (i.e. SWIFT, SFTP, APIs) for customers and NZ clearing systems
- You understand agile product development processes and are experienced in making recommendations based on best customer outcomes
- You have proven experience in developing and implementing new products, including negotiation of commercial agreements
- You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver compelling business propositions to senior leaders within the bank
- You have sound analytical, strategic and problem-solving abilities
- You are experienced in working cross functionally and engaging at all levels of large organisations
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can easily convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- You have a sound understanding of monitoring and management of risk in end-to-end product processes
- You have strong financial acumen and experience managing a P&L
- You will ideally have experience developing pricing models and strategies
