Position Summary

The Implementation Manager will lead the rollout of our innovative vRAN solution. As a technical expert with strong project experience, you will have an in-depth understanding of RAN engineering concepts, have worked in a Linux based environment, are familiar with IP networking, have worked on RAN troubleshooting, ticket handling, system software upgrades, 4G/5G network rollout and swap projects. Knowledge of NFVI concepts would be a plus.

You are also accountable for delivering business results and support the ongoing needs of the business while ensuring best practices are implemented throughout the organization. Provide technical oversight of the product installation environment, and maintenance of the system to ensure reliable performance. Advocate continuous improvement methodologies and tools across the business

Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for guiding the team through technical issues, organizing their day to day technical tasks and reviewing & delivery quality.
- Lead the technical presentations/ tasks representing Samsung New Zealand in front of the customer as SME on all RAN related technical matters.
- Work with Overseas based RAN and operations teams and ensure the escalation processes are executed as per the best practices.
- Maintain and optimize the existing processes related to NR rollout, 4G swap, network upgrade and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and create the Engineering On-call roster.
- Conduct regular drills to ensure team is ready to tackle emergency scenarios.
- Create processes and SOP documents to streamline the project delivery tasks.
- Support technical manager in team hiring and performance management.
- Attend the technical meetings representing their teams on all relevant forums.
- Perform Monthly Site visits to identify installation faults & process.

Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of expert level proficiency in Radio Access Network (RAN) network engineering.
- Expert level technical knowledge in at least one and preferably more of the following areas:

- Commissioning and integration (C&I) of radio network, Core network engineering, IP transmission, 4G E2E call flow and troubleshooting, 4G/5G network architecture, NFVI and vRAN concepts.
- Proven track record in defining complex network solutions and analyzing technical/operational aspects and communicating them with internal and external stakeholders.
- Linux administrator certification is highly desirable.
- Cisco networking certification will be an added advantage.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both written and spoken).
- Hands on experience on C&I of radio networks.
- Good understanding of LTE/NR standard specifications (Call, OAM).
- Strong Reasoning & Analytical Skills.
- Understanding of mobile communication architecture (RAN, Core, IMS).
- A team player that understands and is able to work in a truly multicultural and multinational environment.
- Leadership mindset, be proactive, take responsibility. Good listener and have great attention to detail.
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical jargons into simple to understand solutions.
- Fast and eager self-learner, passionate for exploring new technologies.
- Customer centric mindset and prioritize customer’s problems over any internal task.
- Working level expertise on Linux administration.
- Working experience of RedHat OpenStack, VMware etc. will be a plus.
