Are you an experienced SIEM Security Specialist seeking a new contract opportunity?

Our client, a large scale enterprise transportation business is seeking an experienced Security Specialist to work with them on a contract basis.

The core role requirements and expectations are as follows:

- Working extensively with the security information and event management (SIEM) to manage/tune the system, create/manage the detection content and actively monitor for alerts
- Correlates network, cloud and endpoint activity across environments to identify attacks and unauthorized use.
- Conducts monitoring and intrusion detection analysis using various SIEM and defense tools, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls and host based security systems.
- Conducts log-based and endpoint-based threat detection to detect and protect against threats coming from multiple sources.
- Conducts cloud-centric detection to detect threats related to cloud environments and services used by the business.
- Correlates activity across assets (endpoint, network, apps) and environments (on-premises, cloud) to identify patterns of anomalous activity
- Review alerts and data from sensors, and documents formal, technical incident reports
- Works with threat intelligence and/or threat-hunting teams
- Provides incident response support, including mitigating actions to contain activity and facilitating forensics analysis when necessary.

The preferred applicant will have the following skills and experience:

- Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders both face to face and remotely.
- CISSP, CISA or other security qualifications would be preferred.
