**Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team**:
Te Aho o Te Kahu was established in December 2019 to provide national leadership and oversight for cancer control. The Agency has a key role in driving the system change needed to achieve the ambitious goals set out in the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019-2029.
The DMR (Data, Monitoring, and Reporting) Team leads the implementation of an integrated approach to collect, analyse and communicate high quality cancer data to drive planning, quality improvement and monitoring activities across the cancer sector. As with all Te Aho o Te Kahu teams, this integrated approach will have a focus on equity.

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
Join our dynamic team as an Information Analyst and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cancer care with data-driven insights. As the key architect of impactful information products, you'll transform raw data into actionable intelligence that drives decision-making at Te Aho o Te Kahu. Your expertise in ontology-based analytics using SNOMED CT will be put to the test as you extract and analyse cancer-related datasets, delivering valuable insights through engaging publications and interactive R Shiny Apps.

Collaborating with stakeholders in the cancer sector, you'll tailor information products to meet evolving needs and contribute to service improvements. With an arsenal of statistical tools and methodologies, you'll develop a deep understanding of Te Aho o Te Kahu's datasets and assist clients in interpreting complex information. Your attention to detail and strong project management skills will ensure timely and accurate publication of high-priority Tier 1 Statistics. Forge connections across Te Aho o Te Kahu, the Ministry of Health, and the broader health sector, fostering collaborative relationships that amplify the impact of your work.

By delivering evidence-based publications, you'll champion our priorities and contribute to the continual enhancement of our processes and systems. Your role as an Information Analyst extends to supporting the team's communication efforts and driving effective performance monitoring and evaluation frameworks. With a commitment to equity and Treaty obligations, you'll ensure that your work aligns with our core values.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- Analytical skills and proven ability to understand and work with numbers
- Demonstrated ability to work in a programming language, for example SQL, R, or Python. Experience with R or R Shiny is highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to gather requirements from customers, communicate between technical and non-technical people, and analyse and present data to suit a variety of audiences
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and experience preparing written reports is highly regarded
- Excellent relationship building skills, and a positive approach to meeting client needs
- An understanding of Māori tikanga and kawa and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
