**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

As the Principal Advisor you will have a key role in working with sector leaders to shape up the future of our health workforce. Ensuring that the education and training pipelines are responsive and agile to develop a flexible and sustainable workforce pipeline.

You will lead the development of the workforce planning activity through quality operational advice including the development of the advice, briefings, guidance and senior support to the Group Manager Strategic Workforce.

The role sits within the Workforce Development and Planning Group and interacts across teams within Health NZ and other agencies to ensure a cohesive approach to workforce development.

This is a system wide focused role working with key stakeholders to effect tangible change. This creates the opportunity to build wide on your innate ability to build networks and use your honed policy and stakeholder relationship skills.

- Experience at providing strategic advice and providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure effective delivery of programmes and initiatives
- The ability to influence, operate and get buy-in within a sector with complex stakeholder interests
- Experience with developing effective strategies that deliver on organisational objectives.
- Can demonstrate they have given meaningful effect to the expectations outlined in Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their position(s)/at a leadership level.
- Previous responsibility at a senior level for developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples and groups.
- An appropriate tertiary level professional qualification and/or significant relevant work experience
