Job Description**
He aha te ia o tēnei mahi? | What's this role about?**

We are on the hunt for a Senior Control & Instrumentation (C& I) Engineer to provide technical backing to our Geothermal Stations. Your focus will be to support the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of Contact’s essential Generation assets.

You will be the expert for all things Control and Instrumentation related and take ownership of relevant procedures to ensure they continue to meet company and industry best practice. You will implement improvements in technology and improvements to processes and procedures to ensure we operate efficiently.

As a Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer you will also deliver excellent engineering support, oversight, and advice to Contact’s Geothermal teams. You will have an advanced and recognised understanding of process and functional safety and the procedures required to fulfil all company and legal obligations to ensure Contact’s equipment and personnel are kept safe. You will also play a key part in Contact’s C&I system configuration and security in accordance with our Asset Integrity and Safety Life Cycle Standards.

In this role, job mitigating risk is important so you will hold Discipline Authority (DA) responsibilities to manage and control technical risks.

- You will have a Degree in Engineering or equivalent - ideally with recognised professional registration (CPEng, Int PE) with DISCIPLINE as a Major/Practice Area.
- At least 10 years’ experience in the Geothermal power sector (or similar heavy industry).
- Registration as a Certified Functional Safety Professional with recognised registration of authority.
- High level expertise and experience in the control system discipline including DCS, PLCs, telemetry systems, instrumentation systems and their communication systems.
- A sound working knowledge in your discipline of the legislative framework Contact’s Generation sites operate under.
- Experience with project management and contract management.
- Knowledge around financial modelling for the evaluation of investment opportunities and business case development.
**How you’ll smash this role out of the park**

You will be known for your communication, senior C&I technical skills and are able to effectively solve complex issues with a wide group of people who may not have a technical background. You can problem solve, juggle tasks, influence others and connect. You have previous success in leading process and functional safety tasks effectively and efficiently. You have a growth mindset and are flexible and responsive when new ideas are thrown at you.
