Company Description
Our purpose is to put our energy where it matters, to decarbonise Aotearoa energy sector and promote #changematters.
We are committed to delivering market leading performance to shareholders and value to our customers. We are in a privileged position to make real impact on the decarbonisation of Aotearoa through the development of renewable assets. We work closely with iwi, our neighbours, contractors and our local communities to develop projects that deliver wider benefits beyond the obvious.
To support these aspirations, we are excited to be one of few energy companies in the world embarking on several new geothermal projects. Tauhara Geothermal Station will be a 150 MW geothermal plant, and is well on its way in terms of development. We have recently announced our newest project - Te Huka 3. This additional unit at Te Huka will generate an extra 1% of renewable electricity (or around 430 GWh), which is enough to power 60,000 homes.
**Job Description**:
This position will give the opportunity to work on our Te Huka 3 project, giving you the chance to be a part of a project that will leave a lasting legacy for Contact, the community and for New Zealand.

You’ll add value by planning and executing the project controls requirements for the Te Huka Project. You will also be responsible for incurred cost, cost flows, coordinating the change management process, analysing project costs, forecasting, providing variance explanations against the plan, and reporting to internal and external management.
Some of your day to day tasks will include:
- Prepare and maintain the work breakdown and project coding structures for control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the contract. Accumulate and compile accurate cost management data to prepare the project budget and update the progress of the project
- Identify trends and deviations and recommend corrective courses of action
- Maintain the established project cost/schedule program and prepare schedule/cost status reports
**Qualifications**:
You’ll be a part of a team that takes true pride in delivery. Self-starting, highly motivated and outcome driven - you’ll ensure delivery on time, to budget and with an eye on the overall life of the plant.
This position will require a broad set of skills and experience, you’ll bring to the team:
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications and appropriate professional registration
- 5+ years relevant experience
- Experience within a large-scale complex project environment
- Previously provided cost engineering services while serving as project controls cost engineer
- Solid understanding of field cost engineering concepts and a strong working knowledge of estimating and cost control systems
