An opportunity has arisen for experienced HV Switcher with Line mechanic/Cable Jointing background to join our team. Exceptional opportunities to progress in leadership roles.

**The Role**
Ventia partner with leading Electrical asset providers to deliver maintenance and construction works on distribution lines. Ventia's contract covers the entire WEL network, Hamilton including project upgrades, capital works and routine maintenance.
As the Switcher you will be managing field crews as needed to ensure stable power supplies to 875 commercial / industrial locations and 90,000 domestic consumers.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Conduct switching operations on the distribution HV networks as required in a safe manner to Ventia’s operational standards including the issue and cancellation of relevant permits
- Develop and implement HV switching schedules for both planned work and unplanned outages
- Ensure any access to the WEL Network in managed safely and compliant with all policies and standards and the zero harm targets
- Assist OH/UG crew with execution of work on site.
- Assist in the planning and commissioning of new equipment on the network where required
- Assist with scoping and planning project works from an installation and outage perspective

**What you need**
- Qualified and EWRB registered Line Mechanic G&B and/or Electrician with Switching experience
- Strong Switching experience on a distribution network. HV & LV switching experience.
- Must be able to follow relevant codes of practice of Ventia, network owners and other clients’ standards, policies and operating procedures and have strong - attention to detail.
- Level 4 switching qualification an advantage but not mandatory
- Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence
- Preferred Hands-on experience in all aspects of electricity distribution networks
- Able to supervise teams
