**About the team**
Works Programme is a key group within the core operational groups here at WEL. As a group we always aim to deliver work within targeted times, meeting and exceeding customer expectations, with a workforce model which is capable, scalable, and adaptable to shifting demands and requirements. These goals are being challenged through a significant and positive change in the growth of Hamilton City and Waikato. Works Programme have reviewed the team and to continue to deliver expertly, alongside our great existing team of people, we have created a number of new opportunities.
**About the role**
As a Network Design Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our electricity supply infrastructure by delivering safe and cost effective, conceptual and detailed design solutions. Meeting quality, operational and commercial requirements while also satisfying a variety of customers.
Collaboration with Project Managers, Planners/Estimators and others across the business will help ensure your designs are professional and well considered to protect our network assets.
Safety in Design principles will be embedded into your high quality designs. With your team, you will utilise standard technical tools and processes, assist with the maintenance and improvement and address issues timely.
**Skills and experience**
- Recognised BE Electrical or equivalent degree
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction or design of electricity network infrastructure - Substation design experience would be an advantage
- A proven commitment to safety in your work
- Advanced knowledge in Safety in Design and delivery principles for distribution networks.
