At the heart of Maritime New Zealand's success is the provision of a broad range of administrative and other business support functions. The purpose of the Business Support team is to provide coordinated, efficient and high quality support to the Board, Executive and various teams. This team plays an important organisational role in ensuring strong connections and collaboration within the team and across other support functions.

**What you'll do**:
We are looking for switched on, highly capable and self-motivated individuals keen to be part of a dynamic organisation.
As the Executive Assistant you'll be responsible for providing a range of support to the Executive Leadership Team and Deputy Chief Executives (DCEs) including diary and correspondence management, meeting and events organisation, administrative support and, from time to time, assistance with on-boarding new employees, budgeting and reporting.
You'll be a critical part of the Executive Leadership Team and work alongside the DCEs to support and improve management processes and communications within the group and across other parts of the organisation so that the DCEs are able to function effectively and efficiently in their roles.

**What we're looking for**:

- Previous experience in an Executive Assistant role to a senior executive or manager.
- Strong written communication and experience drafting correspondence
- Ability to identify risks and use well developed problem solving skills and judgement.
- Flexible can do attitude with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.
- Well-developed organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Have a passion for using digital tools and technologies
- A high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Can thrive in a busy and dynamic environment.
- Expertise with MS Office and familiarity with document management systems.
- Ability to work in a culturally safe and respectful manner, always being mindful of the cultural diversity of the industry and having regard to Te Ao Māori and Treaty of Waitangi principles.
