Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi offers the highest standards of tertiary education from certificate to doctorate levels, including programmes for international scholars of indigenous studies. We offer a stimulating teaching, research and professional working environment in one of our three campuses: our main campus at Whakatāne, Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and Te Tai Tokerau (Northland). For this position, our off-site location is Hamilton.

We are looking for an experienced Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (depending on tertiary experience) to teach and co-ordinate papers and related responsibilities of the post-graduate doctorate programme, including doctoral supervision with a specific focus research that is iwi, hapū, whānau and hāpori-engaged. This position can be 1x full time or 2x part-time (0.5FTE).

Our successful applicant/s will have:

- A PhD qualification,
- Extensive tertiary teaching experience at post-graduate level, and experience supervising thesis students,
- A teaching qualification, adult teaching preferred,
- Experience monitoring, assessing and delivering Matauranga Māori, Kaupapa Māori, Te Reo Māori and/or Indigenous Studies and related papers and coordinating papers or programmes at post graduate level,
- Demonstrated record of research and publications relevant to your discipline,
- A current unrestricted private motor vehicle licence.

Knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Te Reo Māori capability is desired to be successful in the role.
