The Head of Leadership, Talent and Growth is a newly established position responsible for developing and leading the Leadership Talent and Growth Strategy and supporting frameworks and approaches that enables MBIE to deliver on its people strategy.

**Tēnei tūranga - About the role**:
As our Head of Leadership, Talent and Growth you will reimagine the way we develop organisational talent and leadership capability and embed a new leader-led approach to culture, engagement and performance that is people-centred and future-focussed.

You will build your newly formed team as a centre of expertise, providing expert advice, along with coaching and learning on-the-job support that uplifts capability of our people leaders and enables enterprise-wide consistency.
You will be a collaborative and influential leader with ability to engage and partner with the different business groups across MBIE to deliver innovative learning and workforce initiatives and solutions with an emphasis on growing MBIE’s own talent.

This is a great role to bring your ideas and set the direction for learning and growth opportunities for our kamahi (staff) that are linked to better outcomes for recruitment, growing our talent pipeline, diversity and inclusion and MBIE’s workforce culture, engagement and performance. You will also contribute to the People and Culture Leadership team and play a crucial role in guiding the ongoing development of an organisational culture of inclusion and belonging and an environment that fosters quality, innovation, on-going learning, and knowledge sharing.

We are looking for an individual with proven experience and achievement in transforming and embedding new ways of working within a large and diverse organisation.

Further to this, they will also demonstrate the following:

- Experience leading a team to deliver innovative leadership, learning and talent approaches that address the needs of a changing workforce
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally
- Ability to sell the vision and bring others along on the journey to embed sustainable change and continually improve the customer experience
- Knowledge and experience of te ao Māori and te ao Māori practices; tikanga, te reo and a comprehensive understanding of the Treaty, Te Tiriti and the Treaty Principles
