**About the role**
Ongoing growth within Ventia brings a truly exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring sound commercial practices are applied by the company in all its activities. Your commercial advice and work, in support of the business, will contribute to improving the company’s performance and reducing risk.
This will demand a high level of commercial insight to be applied to the way we undertake our work - from tendering to project closure - and to the how we engage with our clients and service providers.
You will uphold the company strategy of Redefining Service Excellence through our client focus, innovation and commitment to sustainability and exhibiting the company values of Collaboration, Integrity, Challenge and Ingenuity (CICI)
Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Developing and implementing commercial strategies that support Ventia's overall strategy and objectives
- Actively promoting and adhering to Ventia’s Commercial Golden Rules
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including the work-winning, pre-contracts, legal, finance, operations, SHEQ and supply chain teams, to ensure compliance, alignment and consistency in the commercial aspects of these functions
- Actively participating in tendering / proposals for new business opportunities
- Reviewing, negotiating and finalising commercial agreements with clients and partners, to best balance operational, market and commercial risks and opportunities
- Mentoring of operational teams and developing and delivering training, in commercial and contractual matters
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and managing any disputes that may arise
- Auditing and reviewing operational commercial compliance
**About you**
In addition to a relevant tertiary qualification, you have proven experience in commercial management, including tendering and contract negotiation and management within a large, multi-faceted and complex business.
Analytically strong, you are strategically astute and thrive in a fast-paced environment, involving large volumes of activity, from multiple sources. You have a high level of written and oral literacy in English and you cope well with pressure, working with multiple stakeholders and conflicting deadlines.
Highly motivated, you have excellent organisational and time management skills and take pride in your quest for continuous improvement. Your leadership style is collaborative, empowering and inclusive. Your ability to identify, evaluate and respond to the commercial risks of current and potential business opportunities, will ensure you add value with this role.
