**Purpose of Position**:
The Facilities & Development team provide management services for the maintenance and upkeep of all our client's buildings, plants (e.g. boiler rooms) and properties, and is also responsible for the development of new facilities as well as the refurbishment of existing spaces.

This role provides professional health and safety advice and support to the Facilities & Development team.

**About The Role**:

- Actively participate in the H&S Team
- Influence change that leads to improved business performance Group H&S policies and procedures
- Work with the Health and Safety Manager in the development of Health and Safety policies, strategies, and policies that meets NZ regulatory compliance, and evidence-based best practices to achieve and maintain a safe and healthy working environment
- Operational Performance
- Implement, maintain and review H&S management systems that achieve legislative compliance and provide safe working environments, including ensuring accurate reporting and recording of workplace accidents
- Provide effective reports and recommendations designed to improve manager capability to manage H&S within their areas
- Engage with all levels of the organisation in order to fully understand the working environment they are advising on
- Project Management
- Proactive and practical project plans that are contributed to and are supported by management and employees to assist the business to achieve businesses goals/targets based on the H&S Strategic plan
- Conduct complex root causes analysis investigations in relation to workplace harm incidents, in order to reduce Injuries and injury duration
- Be the identified point of contact for all safety matters and notify the Health and Safety manager of any areas of concern

**About You**:
Essential:

- A commitment to biculturalism
- A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori Tertiary qualification in a Health and Safety and/or related field
- 4-5 years of previous experience in a Health and Safety advisor role.
- Experienced and competent in Microsoft Office suite of products

Desired:

- Recognised qualification in safety auditing
- Recognised qualification or training in accident investigation
