**Job description**

Avalon Indian Restaurant is one of Hamilton’s best Indian restaurants known for its authentic Indian dishes and excellent service. We are located on Avalon Drive in Hamilton. We provide dine in, takeaway, deliveries and catering services. We are now looking to expand our business. We offer good staff discounts and an excellent work environment.

We are looking for one **Restaurant Manager** to manage all aspects of our business and operation. As Restaurant Manager, you will be the face of the business and your inherent ability to host is paramount to success in this role. Reporting directly to the owner, you will use your knowledge and passion to drive revenue. Overseeing day to day operations of the restaurant leading the search and execution of new ideas.

This is a permanent full-time position with minimum 30 hours work week.

The pay rate $30 an hour. Work is required from Monday to Friday. If extra work is required, over-time will be paid along with all the standard employment entitlements in line with standard New Zealand employment law.
- NZ Register Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)

At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

**Tasks Include**:

- planning menus in consultation with Chefs
- planning and organising special functions
- arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
- maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
- ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance
- conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service
- selecting, training and supervising waiting and kitchen staff

may take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders

**Requirements**:
A minimum of 3 years relevant experience is highly desirable, along with the ability to work well in a team environment and ability to perform under pressure. Relevant qualifications or 3 years of work experience is a must.

As we offer delivery and catering services a New Zealand driver’s license is a must.

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
