Systems Administrator

**Key Responsibilities**:
- **System Management**: Install, configure, monitor, and maintain physical and virtual servers, ensuring optimal system performance and availability. Perform system backups, disaster recovery planning, and routine updates to reduce downtime and prevent data loss.
- **Network and Security**:Manage firewalls, VPNs, and network access controls to secure business systems. Conduct regular security audits and patching activities to address vulnerabilities and meet compliance standards.
- **Cloud Infrastructure**:Administer cloud-based services (Azure) including provisioning, resource optimization, and automation using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.Support hybrid cloud environments and manage secure connectivity between systems.
- **Monitoring and Troubleshooting**:Use monitoring tools to proactively detect system performance issues. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems and resolve incidents in a timely manner, including working after hours when necessary.
- **Automation and Scripting**:Develop scripts (PowerShell/Bash) for task automation, configuration management, and operational efficiency.
- **DevOps Support**: Collaborate with development teams to maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure that deployment environments are consistent and reliable.
- **Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain system documentation, including configuration changes, incident logs, and compliance reports. Provide periodic reports on system health, usage, and project progress.
- **Vendor Coordination**: Manage relationships with third-party IT vendors and service providers to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met, particularly in infrastructure and security domains.
- **User Support and Access Control**: Support internal teams by managing user accounts, permissions, and group policies. Handle system onboarding and offboarding processes efficiently and securely.
**Experience**:
- Minimum 10 years of solid, hands-on experience as a Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer, with a strong track record of maintaining business-critical systems.
- Proven expertise in Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise-level systems in industries with high security and uptime requirements, such as financial services or SaaS platforms.
- Strong familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
- Previous experience implementing and maintaining ITIL-aligned service management processes is highly desirable.
**Technical Skills**:
- In-depth knowledge of system security protocols, firewalls, anti-virus, and identity and access management (IAM).
- Cloud systems administration (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) experience is a strong plus.
- Comfortable with network protocols, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and other core IT services.
- Skilled in using monitoring tools like Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana, or similar.
**Soft Skills**:
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to mentor junior IT staff and support collaborative problem-solving.
- Flexible and responsive to after-hours support needs, particularly during critical system events or maintenance windows.
