The Principal Advisor role involves establishing and operationalizing the Assurance Function. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing assurance frameworks, providing technical advice and support, engaging stakeholders, and acting as a trusted advisor to government agencies.

This organisation focuses on providing strategic advice, project management, and portfolio management services to government agencies. The organisation collaborates with various stakeholders, to ensure that government property projects follow accepted methodologies and best practices. Overall, It plays a crucial role in optimising the government's property assets and achieving excellence in property management across government agencies.

**About the role**:
The Principal Advisor is responsible for providing high-quality technical advice and support across various assurance work streams, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and acting as a trusted advisor to government office accommodation portfolio mandated agencies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsibilities include leading assurance strategy, delivering annual assurance programs, preparing and presenting reports, managing risks, and facilitating workshops.
- The Principal Advisor also provides intellectual thought leadership, advises on property assurance and project management, and engages with stakeholders at senior levels.
- People leadership, safety commitment, and adherence to organisational principles are important aspects of the role.

**Key Requirements**:

- 10+ years experience in providing risk and assurance services in either the public and/or private sectors.
- Excellent relationship management skills - able to establish, build, maintain and own effective working relationships with senior leaders, and other key stakeholders.
- Highly developed leadership and organisational skills - able to operate autonomously while gaining the co-operation of others.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills - able to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely, adapt style to suit the needs of the audience and influence others to accept ideas/strategies
