We're looking for **Analysts** to join our team and contribute to a wide range of central Government priorities. Whether you're a policy generalist or a technical specialist, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
**What You'll Do**
As an Analyst, you'll have the chance to:
- Identify problems and develop practical, high-quality advice on significant policy matters that influence the living standards of New Zealanders, including preparing Cabinet Papers and other key documents.
- Contribute to, and in some cases lead, writing Treasury Reports, Ministerial briefings and speeches and Cabinet Papers as requested
- Develop strong relationship management skills by collaborating with other Government agencies, external stakeholders, and Treasury teams to achieve impactful policy outcomes.
- Contribute to or project-manage smaller projects, within the context of a defined project plan and governance arrangements
- Grow professionally through customised training, challenging assignments, and a focus on personal development.
- Contribute to cross-agency and cross-Treasury projects, ensuring alignment with broader government priorities and fostering collaboration across the organisation and the wider public service.
At the Treasury, we have opportunities to utilise your expertise in areas such as:
- **Economic and Fiscal Policy Advice** - Contribute to shaping the policy agenda as the Government's lead economic and financial policy advisor.
- **Economic Strategy, Māori Economy, and Economic Development** - Promote inclusive and sustainable growth by advancing opportunities for Māori and supporting broader economic development initiatives.
- **Climate, Energy and Resource Policy** - Help shape New Zealand's response to climate change, energy and resource management challenges by developing policies that support a low-emissions economy, efficient and resilient energy markets and sustainable resource use.
- **Infrastructure, Security and Government**:
- contribute to policy development relating to matters of national importance
**Ō Pūmanawa | About You**
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in policy advice or related analytical fields, with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Law, or Social Sciences.
- Strong analytical, critical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity to deliver practical advice.
- The ability to deliver quality advice in a flexible and fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including Ministers.
- The ability to build and maintain professional relationships to deliver impactful policy solutions.
- Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to manaakitanga, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.

The salary range for this role is $90-353 - $122,243 and appointment will be based on skills and experience.
