Having completed a turnaround of our business in the last few years, Walter & Wild is now a company with serious growth ambitions, not only in our home market of New Zealand, but also in Australia, the UK and further afield. Our category development and revenue management function will be at the centre of this growth, mining for actionable insights to close the gap on our ambitions, planning our portfolio as we go, and ensuring careful management of pricing and revenue to ensure we’re maximising our profitable growth.

We are currently looking for an experienced Category Development & Revenue Manager to join our Sales team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing trading strategies in line with brand and category strategies for the major customers to deliver long term financial targets, drive profitable growth and increase market share. The Category Development & Revenue Manager will run the middle ground between sales, marketing, and finance to achieve this.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to**:

- Assisting Sales and Marketing team in strategic planning through improved understanding of market and category dynamics.
- Developing and implementing category and trade strategies in line with our strategic plans.
- Leading the category review process internally and externally to ensure improved visibility and availability across major categories.
- Leading Sales and Marketing team to engage customers with category-based approach.
- Ensure the most effective use of trade spend to increase promotional effectiveness.
- Driving revenue management practices across the business.
- Creating our data roadmap, managing the relationship with data providers and ensure that the company maximises its value.

**To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills, knowledge, and experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in category development and trade spend optimisation, or a similar role, preferably in a complex manufacturing or food processing environment.
- Adept in identifying and managing demanding and difficult situations.
- Ability to engage internally and externally at senior levels.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and selling skills.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams to deliver business results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills.
- Analytical with the ability to plan and monitor performance effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft excel, IRI, Quantium and Dunhumby.
