**As we prepare to move to a single operator model for the Duty Free Operations at Auckland Airport, we are looking to bolster our support teams with like minded professionals with an interest in growing their career with a global leader in Travel Retail, locally managed.**

Bring your expertise in Category Management and build on your experience with global luxury brands in a full time role with a global leader in Travel Retail. You will join an established Trans-Tasman team and take ownership of driving the growth of the **perfume and cosmetics** categories across our New Zealand Duty Free & Luxury platforms through a range of diverse activities including category planning & ranging, pricing and promotions, management of supplier relationships and negotiation.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate broad thinking, experience working with cross functional teams and a diverse set of skills required to drive category strategy.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Supporting the overall development & execution of category strategy
- Monitoring customer engagement in stores & identifying tactical pricing opportunities
- Providing insight into promotional & merchandising opportunities & results
- Building open, transparent relationships with suppliers with a view to promoting long-term engagement
- Working with operational teams to drive category success
- Managing to budgets and forecasts
- Inventory & purchasing plans to maintain positive cash flow
- Internal reporting of Category performance
- Playing an active role in promoting the culture of the business
- Coaching, mentoring, and managing an Assistant Category Manager

**In order to be successful in this role you will need**:

- 5+ years experience in retail category management
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Industry knowledge in Perfume & Cosmetics or a similar category will be highly regarded
- Proven experience managing successful supplier relationships
- Superior oral and written skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience leading a direct report

You will enjoy juggling competing priorities, demonstrate a high level of initiative, have excellent time management and communication skills and confidence liaising with a varied audience.
