**About the Role - Korero mo te Turanga**
The National Operations Centre (NOC) sits within the Biosecurity Intelligence Systems, and Response Group. A key function of the NOC is to facilitate situational awareness and enable confident decision-making across stakeholders through provision of real-time information.
As a National Operations Coordinator you will enhance situational awareness across the Ministry through relationship management, data and information management and creation of innovative solutions. You will work closely with multiple areas of the business and within the wider government space.
As part of the National Operations Centre, you will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of areas as well as assisting in both MPI and All of Government Responses.

To be successful in this role, you will bring experience in the following areas:
- Exploring and testing concepts to identify future challenges and opportunities.
- Providing advice, analysis, consultation and engagement across on a range of topics.
- Communicating effectively across a range of stakeholders and organisational levels.
- Ability to work in a varied-paced environment and manage ambiguity.
- Building and maintaining strong networks across MPI, wider government, and industry partners.
- This role may be required to be involved in responses including All of Government responses._
**About the Team** - **Mo to matou Ropu**
The National Operations Centre is a close-knit team that values diverse perspectives, and fosters an environment where ideas can be challenged, discussed and worked through together. The majority of the team is Wellington based with an Auckland position also under recruitment.
The team is responsible for national-level awareness, coordination, and operational support for responses, surveillance, and readiness activities-ensuring MPI is prepared to act swiftly and effectively when a response happens.

**Higher level Security Clearance**
- most preferably a New Zealand citizen who has **resided continuously in New Zealand** for at least the last **ten**(**10) years**, OR
- is a citizen of, **and/or has resided continuously** in one or more of the following countries for the last **ten (10) years**: either Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK or the USA; **and** has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
