Within the Corporate Services Group is the Facilities and Asset Management Team (FAM), responsible for ensuring that the buildings and grounds of the parliamentary precinct are secure, comfortable, and well-maintained. The Speaker of the House of Representatives is the principal customer of FAM, receiving comprehensive and courteous property services related to buildings and accommodation from them and the Parliamentary Service.
Mō te tūnga - About the role
In your role as the Principal Property Lead, you'll take charge of spearheading various property initiatives to improve the parliamentary area, serving the requirements of the Speaker and the Parliamentary Service. Your duties include critical management of leases, cutting down carbon emissions, and monitoring property performance. Acting as the primary contact for property issues, you'll offer advice to stakeholders both within and outside the organisation. Additionally, you will guarantee that senior leadership is well-informed about the Facility Asset Management (FAM) team's progress and accomplishments through prompt and precise reporting.
- Manage, maintain and update all agreed lease management information including documentation for the property portfolio
- Write procurement plans, RFP requirements, service agreements, and supporting documentation
- Develop, implement process improvement plans and initiatives including documentation, working closely with the Facilities and Asset Manager for FAM Operations at the precinct
- Manage, and work closely with our external supplier to collate, verify, and report all carbon emission for each financial year. This is to meet timeframes set by CNGP

Yes, we are seeking an experienced property lead however, what is equally important to us is someone who is exceptionally customer centric in everything they do.
- Excellent understanding of property management and leasing, and thorough knowledge of operations and facility management and maintenance
- Interest, knowledge and experience in the carbon emissions and sustainability space
- Confident, highly motivated, and self-managing
- Effective planning, coordination, and time-management skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise workflows and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to compose clear written communications
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of people and organisations
- Excellent knowledge of building compliance legislation and requirements
- Understanding and awareness of Health and Safety legislation and regulations in relation to property and buildings

The starting salary range for this role is $111,343 - $122,931 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills and experience (please note, the full salary range extends beyond this to allow for tenure progression).
