Ngā Kete Wānanga o Ōtautahi Christchurch City Libraries is a network providing access to creativity, ideas and information. We make opportunities for our community to explore and have fun with everything from old stories to new technologies through a vast range of materials and public programmes.

Our Preservation Assistants help with the repair and protection of library stock, undertake minor preservation work, printing tasks, and assist when required with the distribution of books across the library network.

**About the role**:
Joining our busy Preservations team, this role will see you taking responsibility for:

- Strengthening new books and magazines by plasticating covers
- Repairing library books that need to be kept in the collection and using tools such as a guillotine or industrial stapler
- Printing flyers and other material for the library network
- Supporting the Library Distribution Drivers to deliver stock around the network
- Responding to customer queries regarding possible book repairs and dust jackets
- Have NCEA Level 2 or equivalent and a full drivers' license
- Be physically fit
- Have manual dexterity and paper handling skills
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Be happy to perform repetitive tasks

**_ Hours: Permanent, part-time position. Monday - Friday 12.30pm - 4.30pm_**

**_ Salary: $28.18 per hour _**

**_Location: Primarily based at 180 Smith Street, Linwood_**
