As we continue to expand our product portfolio and commercial operations, we are seeking a Product Development & Commercial Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

**About the Role**

This is a pivotal, high-impact leadership position responsible for end-to-end product ownership - from concept and design through to pricing, manufacturing, commercial performance and market success.

You’ll lead cross-functional teams across Product Development, Costing, Digital, Displays and Commercial Analysis, ensuring all new products are profitable, scalable, and aligned with business strategy.

You will be based at our Clayton’s Head Office in Melbourne, Australia. This is a 15,000 square metre state of the art facility, where we have been serving the Australian building and renovation industry for over 40 years.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap, driving innovation and lifecycle management.
- Lead product costing, pricing and margin improvement initiatives.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, efficient and commercially viable.
- Oversee product development teams, implementing measurable KPIs and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers and builders to develop new materials, designs and technologies.
- Lead SKU rationalisation and speed-to-market improvements.
- Drive the commercialisation of new products through effective marketing and sales enablement.
- Report directly to the COO as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.

**About You**

You are a strategic product leader with proven success in manufacturing, building products, or engineered solutions. You understand how to bring ideas to market — balancing design innovation, manufacturability, and commercial outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- 10+ years’ experience in product development, commercial management or innovation leadership.
- Strong financial acumen and P&L accountability.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional or multi-site teams.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, or prefab/modular systems.
- Experience managing supplier partnerships and new product launches.
- A track record of delivering profitable growth, efficiency improvements, and product excellence.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Industrial Design, or Business highly regarded.

Pay: $183,412.00 - $229,265.00 per year
