**Mō tēnei mahi (About this job)**
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Kaiako to deliver our Te Ao Māori Foundation (Level 3) programme. In this role, you will inspire and guide our tauira on their journey to deepen their understanding of te reo Māori, toi, and tikanga Māori. This permanent, full-time position starts in January 2025.
In this role your responsibilities will include developing lesion plans, delivering engaging and relevant lessons, addressing individual tauira needs by providing tailored support. You will also evaluate tauira progress and implement strategies to ensure their success while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
**Mōu (About you)**
You will bring with you:
- Diploma in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent
- Either attest equivalence or NZQA standards required to assess and moderate this programme OR hold the NZ Certificate in Assessment Practice (Level 4)
- Full and current New Zealand Drivers’ License
- 3+ years’ experience working with iwi, hapu or marae projects
- 3+ years’ experience teaching adults
- Proficient with learning management systems (LMS), virtual classrooms platforms, and other educational technologies
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
