**What you’ll do**

Based in Hamilton and reporting to the STTE Manager, you’ll provide asset management for KiwiRail’s electrical assets including high voltage and low voltage reticulation systems, yard lighting and points of supply. You will also manage assigned electrical projects ensuring these are delivered to agreed quality, time, and budget targets and in accordance with relevant technical standards, codes, legislation and Health and Safety requirements.

Key responsibilities:

- Assist with managing the delivery of maintenance and repair work for electrical assets ensuring completed on time and fully compliant
- Provide technical advice and support to field teams in relation to electrical equipment and systems as required.
- Design and costing of electrical work in-conjunction with Traction and Electrical Engineering.
- Ensure electrical works are appropriately planned as required which may include prior consultation with relevant stakeholders
- Foster the development of electrical staff by assisting with provision of appropriate and targeted training and development

Health and Safety is an important part of how KiwiRail operates. You will be a safety leader and will be expected to “walk the safety talk”.

**What you’ll need**

You will have good knowledge of Electrical Industry statutes, codes of practice, standards and trade practices. It is essential that you have:

- Experience with a wide range of electrical installations and outdoor flood lighting.
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety and risk management requirements.
- Registered Electrician 5+yrs practical experience
