Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
National service planning is a key component for health infrastructure planning and capital investment across New Zealand. The Service Planning team is part of the National Infrastructure and Investment Group and leads health planning through collaborative health service design, capacity and demand analysis.
The primary purpose of the role is to lead the analytical capability for national service planning to deliver a future-ready health system and to support other work managed by the Infrastructure and Investment Group.This is challenging but rewarding work to deliver important health infrastructure projects.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant area (eg, maths, statistics, medicine, population health, operations research, information science) and appropriate experience
- Demonstrated high-level skills and experience in designing, developing implementing analytical projects
- Strong communications skills and the ability to facilitate analytical discussions with senior stakeholders
- Highly advanced quantitative and statistical modelling skills and proficiency in Excel, SAS or other statistical software
- Understanding of population health, health services and health outcomes in Aotearoa
- Highly advanced level of knowledge and working experience on main health data (eg, NMDS and NNPAC)
- Highly developed skills in dealing with limitations and uncertainties of information and data
- Advanced experience in leading cross-agency projects
- A collegial attitude and desire to work with colleagues to achieve results and share your knowledge and expertise to support the growth of the team

- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn and grow
