**About the role**

The Senior Evaluation Advisor will assess EBP initiatives, projects and programmes, through the use of structured evaluation methodology, to generate strategies, policies, approaches and tools which lead to the most effective way to meet the Our Business targets. As well as undertaking the practical evaluation of individual projects they will maintain an overview across all EBP projects to understand trends and inform a better understanding of strategic opportunities for improvement. The Senior Evaluation Advisor will also manage and provide oversight of external evaluations of Police initiatives, projects and programmes.

Key Accountabilities:

- Lead, undertake or contribute to evaluation activities of initiatives, projects and programmes according to the objectives and priorities of the EBP work programme
- Work across all facets of the EBP evaluation process, and utilise skills and knowledge to ensure that output is of the highest possible standard.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to others in relation to their research and evaluation projects and associated work. Mentor junior staff to help develop their knowledge and skills in evaluation.
- Represents the team in organisational wide initiatives, projects or programmes as required.
- Lead and/or contribute to the development and maintenance of the evaluation framework for EBP.
- Manage and provide oversight of external evaluations of Police initiatives, projects and programmes.

Special Requirements:

- Tertiary qualification of Masters degree or higher
- Able to demonstrate significant evaluation and research experience
- New Zealand Permanent Resident or NZ Citizenship
- Must reside within Tamaki Makaurau
