**About the Team/Service/ Location**

This Payroll Specialist position is based at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital and operates within a dedicated team responsible for ensuring the district's payroll function runs smoothly and efficiently. You will work Monday to Friday on a fixed-term contract until 31st December 2025, contributing to a team that is collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to meeting the hospital's payroll requirements. This is an opportunity to join a supportive and driven team that values accuracy, compliance, and teamwork in delivering essential payroll services.

**About you**

You have at least two years of payroll experience and a strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all payroll processes. You can work independently, effectively prioritise weekly pay runs, and respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries. Your ability to problem-solve and manage workflows makes you a valuable asset to the team.
- Knowledge of employment legislation
- Understanding of Holidays Act
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- High level of confidentiality
- Experience in a large complex organisation
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of local tikanga and Māori culture
